Midi LDS 400
The Midi LDS 400 arc spray system combines the latest power supply technology with a modular process control and torch platform. The power supply, developed by Elmatech, employs DC pulsed technology which has been proven to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the arc spray process. Pulsed arc operation improves the consistency of the wire melt which:
- More finitely controls molten particle separation
- Increases the application rate
- Lowers the overall heat load of the process thereby reducing the substrate temperature
- Produces a more homogeneous coating and pore-minimized layers
Fumes and dust are historically, a significant downside of arc spraying. Fume generation with legacy arc spray equipment is more significant than any of the other thermal spray processes. The Midi LDS400’s pulsed power supply technology reduces these emissions because of its improved arc control, making for a safer process.
The torch is configurable, with various setup options available:
- Machine mount push/pull system as standard
- Single motor push or pull option
- Handheld torch option
- ID extension torch option (400mm)
- Independent pull motor option – for co-spraying with different wires
The system is designed in a compact package, making it an affordable, full featured, arc spray system. It has easily selectable parameter controls and has preloaded recipes for all standard arc spray wires. It is also capable of running the Oerlikon SmartArc torch.
